POTENTIAL PROBLEMS/SOLUTIONS FOR ONLINE TESTING:

I. When “Finder” appears under “Status”:
When a student exits out of Safari, (the web browser we use for the online tests), the testing computer screen will appear blue and you will see, “Finder” at the top left corner of the screen. You will see “Finder” under “Status” on the Remote Desktop control screen.

Here’s how to get back to the HOME SCREEN:

1) Drag the mouse to the bottom of the screen.
2) The dock (toolbar) will pop.
3) If the Safari Icon—a blue compass—is visible, then double click on it and the Moodle Login screen should reappear.
4) If the Safari Icon is not in the Dock, then click on the Applications folder to the right of the Finder Icon (the smiling square face)
-A window will pop up with the Safari Icon.
– Double click on the Safari Icon and the Moodle Login screen should reappear.

5) Once the Moodle Login screen (HOME SCREEN) is on the screen, Click on the BLACK BOX in the upper left hand corner, so that you are no longer controlling the testing computer screen.
6) LOCK the screen.

II. When “Login Window” appears under “Status”:
When a student Logs out on a testing computer, the Login Screen will be up on the testing computer screen. You will see “Login Window” under “Status” on the Remote Desktop control screen.

Here’s how to get back to the HOME SCREEN:

1) Click on the word, “Student” (not “Test”)
2) Type in the PASSWORD. (Keep this confidential.)
3) The HOME SCREEN (Moodle Login screen) should reappear.
4) Click on the BLACK BOX (upper left corner of screen), so that you are no longer controlling the testing screen.
5) Lock the screen.

III. When “Sleeping” appears under “Status”:
When a testing computer is not locked and/or being used for testing, you will see
“Sleeping” under “Status on the Remote Desktop Control Screen.
-Go and tap any key or click on the mouse of the Testing Computer and it will wake up.
– Make sure you are back at the HOME SCREEN, before locking it.

IV. When “Unavailable” appears under “Status”:

-Check to see if the computer is turned on.
-Check to see if internet connection is working.
